Today was my second day of climbing since I’ve joined the gym. I went yesterday but I stuck to training (situps, pullups on the ETCH Mother Board, pushups and back lifts). Today I solved four problems, all V0. I found five V0 problems, I’ll check for more the next time that I go. I want to knock all of them out before progressing. After I finish the last one, I’ll revisit each of the problems to work on speed. Next I have to work on the V1 problems. Below is my current status in the cave. I did some when I went with Jeff, long ago, but I think those are included. If not, meh.
I’ve been telling people about the gym. I had no idea that so many people would be interested. I only have 2 guess passes for the quarter so someone will have to pay if they want to come. I may have to take wages in to consideration. The rich do not eat for free. I have a few people in mind who would be really into it, I think. Others may just want to check it out. I have until the end of March to decide. If by chance I use both passes before then, I’m sure there will be some way to come up with ~$23.
EXPLANATION: According to my findings the USA uses the Hueco (see wikipedia article) rating system for bouldering problems i.e. V0 refers to the lowest level on the Hueco climbing scale; Heuco tops out at V16. I haven’t figured out the rule set for the rating system; I may have to look it up. A problem is the name of a predetermined route of climbing holds. Each hold in a problem from start to finish is marked by color. Some holds are used in more than one problem and are marked by each problems color. In the following list, and subsequent list unless noted otherwise, Section refers to the portion of the (bouldering) wall that is being climbed; sections start at A and I believe they continue to G. Problems of a given color only appear in each section once. The sections as described are exclusive to my gym though other gyms may use similar distinctions.

The body is sore but, a good sore it is.
